What a fit-out looks like with us
Base build to handover: power, lighting, lighting control, data, communications, security and AV, coordinated with your shopfitter, your ceiling grid and your mechanical trade. Nine of our twenty projects are fit-outs or refurbishments of commercial space, across offices, shopping centres, shops and restaurants.
The programs are short and the sequence is unforgiving. Supre and Typo were six week shop fit-outs. Rockdale Plaza was two months. Homemakers Centre Casula was a $1,000,000 shop fitout in three months, built to client and individual tenancy specifications.
- Custom and architectural lighting. Custom built pendants at Rockdale Plaza, custom built chandeliers at Elanora Country Club.
- Lighting control. Clipsal C-Bus automation for the CFMEU board rooms, site specific DALI at Interchange Pavilion, C-Bus control of lighting, AV and blinds at the Sydney Uni science lab.
- Power and AV. Workstation wiring, data cabling, PA and AV.
- Tenancy boards and metering. New boards, new meter panels, new submains.
- Emergency and exit lighting. Installed to the drawings and the standards.
- Security and communications. Including a new MDF from the street where the base build needs one.
Working in a building that is still open
Most commercial fit-outs happen around people. At Elanora Country Club the brief was to maintain full use of the club's facilities for the whole of the second level construction. At Interchange Pavilion the lighting install ran in and around live facilities, which OnPoint's own project note calls logistically difficult, delivered on time with delivery systems in place.
Certificates with the keys
Every fit-out finishes the same way. Insulation resistance, earth continuity, polarity and RCD testing, then commissioning of the lighting control, the dry fire detection and the comms. A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work is issued against what we installed, and it is handed over with the as-builts, the switchboard schedules, the test results and the warranties.

What a builder usually asks.
Can you work in a centre or a tenancy that is still trading?
Yes. Elanora Country Club stayed in full use through the second level construction, and the Bonnyrigg Plaza Stage 2 carpark upgrade ran across twenty four months of a trading centre.
Do you do lighting control and AV, or just power and light?
Both. Clipsal C-Bus automation for the CFMEU board rooms, a site specific DALI package interfacing with NEMA nodes at Interchange Pavilion, and C-Bus control of lighting, AV and blinds at the Sydney Uni science lab.
How short a fit-out program have you worked to?
Six weeks. Supre and Typo were both six week shop fit-outs including a new main switchboard, power, track lighting, security and communications. Rockdale Plaza was two months and Homemakers Centre Casula was three.
Who issues the electrical compliance paperwork at the end?
We do. A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work against the installation, plus as-built drawings, switchboard schedules, test and commissioning results and warranties.
