What we install
OnPoint has been building and replacing switchboards on Sydney commercial sites since 2017. The work runs from a single tenancy board in a six week shop fit-out through to a 1600 amp main switchboard feeding a whole shopping centre. Fourteen of our twenty published projects involve a board, a main switchboard upgrade or new metering.
The board is usually the thing that decides whether the rest of the program holds. If the incoming supply is short, or the existing board will not carry the new load, that is not a fit-off problem. It is a tender problem, and we would rather tell you at tender.
- Main switchboards. Design, supply, install, test and commission.
- Distribution and tenancy boards. Forty new tenancy boards and meter panels at Bonnyrigg Plaza alone.
- Metering. Tenancy metering and meter panels, including metering to every tenancy at Westpoint Blacktown.
- Consumers mains and submains. Incoming supply from the street, submains reticulation out to the boards.
- Power factor correction. Installed at Homemakers Centre Casula.
- Boards in buildings that keep trading. Staged and switched so the tenancies stay open.
Built at Taren Point, not in your laydown area
Boards and schedules are built and staged out of Unit 9, 58 Box Road, Taren Point before they go to site. The day the switchroom is ready, the board is ready. That is one less trade standing around and one less crate in the way.
We are a licensed NSW electrical contractor, a NECA member and cm3 pre-qualified. Licence and insurance certificates go across on request.
Certified before we leave
Every board we install is tested and commissioned: insulation resistance, earth continuity, polarity and RCD testing. A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work is issued against what we installed, not against what was drawn. It goes into the handover pack with the as-built drawings, the switchboard schedules, the test results and the warranties, so your certifier has nothing left to chase.

Straight answers
What a builder usually asks.
Do you issue the compliance certificate for a new board?
Yes. A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work is issued against what we installed, and it is handed over with the as-built drawings, the switchboard schedules, the test and commissioning results and the warranties.
Can the board be built before our switchroom is ready?
Boards and schedules are staged at our Taren Point workshop before they go to site, so the board is ready when the room is.
Do you handle the incoming supply and the metering as well?
Yes. For example, a new 160 amp incoming supply from the street to a new main switchboard at 211 Military Road, Cremorne for MLP Co, metering to every tenancy at Westpoint Blacktown for CD Construction Group, and distribution boards plus meter panels for forty new tenancies at Bonnyrigg Plaza.
How large a board have you actually installed?
1600 amp main switchboards on two jobs: Westpoint Blacktown, a $4,000,000 shopping centre refurbishment for CD Construction Group over eighteen months, and Homemakers Centre Casula, a $1,000,000 shop fitout for CD Constructions over three months.
